Non-US citizens cannot receive federal aid and often have to pay out-of-pocket. Don’t get discouraged! There are several outside scholarships you can get. Here are five scholarships for non-US citizens and other scholarship sources for non-US citizens including undocumented students, DACA or TPS recipients, refugees and international students of all nationalities.
1. IvyPanda Video Contest Scholarship for Creative Students
Deadline: June 15th, 2018
Amount: The winner receives a $1,000 scholarship and the runner-up prize is $500
Eligibility: Current high school, college or university students from any country.
How to apply: You must record an original video on one of these topics: “How to Overcome Loss of Study Motivation: Your Personal Lifehacks,” “How to Maintain a Good Study-Life Balance: Your Recommendations,” or “Your Tips And Tricks to Reduce Homesickness for both Domestic and International Students.”
Videos are evaluated on content quality, engagement, creativity, and production.

2. SWC Dreamers Scholarship
Deadline: June 30, 2018
Amount: $2,500 awarded for Fall 2018
Eligibility: High school senior or undergraduate student planning to attend college in Fall 2018 and you must meet the DREAMer criteria: Immigrant under the age of 25, Entered the United States before age 16, Have lived continuously in the country for at least five years, Have not been convicted of a felony, a “significant” misdemeanor, or three other misdemeanors
How to apply: Submit a video answering the questions: “What sets me apart?”, “What inspires me?” and “Why I’m pursuing my degree in ___.”

3. CharterUP National Scholarship for Immigrants and Refugees
Deadline: July 5th, 2018
Amount: $10,000 per academic year split evenly between semesters
Eligibility: Applicants must be born outside of the U.S. and currently enrolled (or accepted) as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited U.S. college or university. High school seniors intending to enroll are also eligible. Along with their most recent transcript showing a weighted GPA of 3.4 or greater
How to apply: Scholarship applicants must submit a written essay that declares a personal vision and demonstrates the potential to achieve that vision. 1 recommender and some basic information are required on the online form and official transcripts must be mailed.

4. MoolahSPOT Scholarship (EASY MONEY!)
Deadline: August 31, 2018
Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Any student at least 16 years or older who plans to attend, or is currently attending, college or graduate school. Students may be of any nationality and reside in any country. Students may study any major or plan to enter any career field at any accredited college or graduate school. Although applicants can be from any country, all applications must be completed in English.
How to apply: Fill out the short online application & submit an essay in 400 words or less on one of the following topics:

The Dream.US has 2 scholarships for Non-US citizens. Their National scholarship is open to community college and high school graduates who have DACA or TPS or meet the DACA eligibility. Their National Scholarship is $14,500 for an associate’s degree and $29,000 for a bachelor’s degree. The Opportunity Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship to their partnered schools, available for those who live in locked-out states (where they cannot get in-state tuition) who have DACA or TPS status.
